Meeting the networking needs of the pan-African eLearning and distance education sector, the annual eLearning Africa conference is the key networking venue for practitioners and professionals from Africa and all over the world.

Main Facts:

• eLearning Africa is the largest gathering of eLearning and ICT supported education and training professionals in Africa, enabling participants to develop multinational and cross-industry contacts and partnerships, as well as to enhance their knowledge, expertise and abilities.
• At eLearning Africa 2013, 1,480 education and training practitioners, experts, researchers, newcomers and providers from 65 countries gathered during the three conference days at the Safari Conference Centre, Windhoek, Namibia. 86% of the participants came from African countries. The conference programme featured the work of 300 speakers and chairpersons from 43 countries, addressing all forms of technology-enhanced learning and including a rich mix of themes, topics and a variety of session formats.

CT4Africa 2014 – Yaounde Cameroon

The International Conference on ICT for Africa is an annual conference that brings together stakeholders of the educational and industrial sectors in Africa, with the aim of reflecting on how to transfer, diffuse and adopt the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) within the African context; the innovation and development of ICT solutions for and within this context; impacts of ICT on society and of society on ICT; and other relevant normative, empirical, and theoretical concerns of ICT development, implementation, strategy, management and policy that are distinctive to Africa and associated developing economies.

The African Economic Outlook (AEO) 2009 on Innovation and New Technologies in Africa uses information collected during country missions undergone by the AfDB, the OECD Development Centre, the UNECA and African think tanks in 47 African countries. Consultations with Governments, regulatory agencies, universities, donors and civil society, as well as data collected on ICT sector performance are reported in each country note.
